Lime Hawk is a quarterly online journal of environment, culture, and sustainability, featuring new poetry, prose, and visual art each season.

We want stories that question the conventional, essays that offer new mindsets, and poetry that gives voice to the unheard. We love art that inspires us to evolve from our old ways and embrace the future, the earth, the weird, the whole, the big, the small, the sustainable, the new.

Lime Hawk accepts only original and unpublished work. We are currently a no fee, no pay market. We welcome simultaneous submissions, but please let us know as soon as possible if your work is accepted elsewhere. If you need to withdraw a submission, please do so through Submittable. Lime Hawk requires First Serial Rights. Rights automatically revert back to the author upon publication, meaning you can reprint your work wherever and whenever you like.

Lime Hawk looks forward to receiving your submissions of original, unpublished prose, poetry, and visual art. We welcome creative work, regardless of genre, as well as simultaneous submissions, collective creations, and mixed-media projects.

A few guidelines:

Prose: 5,000 words maximum

Poetry: up to 5 poems at a time, in a single file

Visual Art: up to 5 images at a time

At Lime Hawk, $5 goes a long way. Your donation helps offset publishing costs, funds future projects, and basically keeps us up and running. We're growing big and strong, thanks to you! Muchas gracias.
