Finding inspiration in natural systems, sustainability, culture, and wildness, the online literary journal Lime Hawk features new works of short fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and visual art each year. 

We are no longer accepting submissions for Issue 14, due out late 2022.

We want stories that question the conventional, essays that offer new mindsets, and poetry that gives voice to the unheard. We love art that inspires us to evolve from our old ways and embrace the future, the earth, the weird, the whole, the big, the small, the sustainable, the new.

Please familiarize yourself with our aesthetic before sending us your work. All past issues are available in our issue archives.

Lime Hawk accepts only original and unpublished work. We are currently a no-fee, no-pay market. We welcome simultaneous submissions, but please let us know as soon as possible if your work is accepted elsewhere. If you need to withdraw a submission, please do so through Submittable.

Lime Hawk requires First Serial Rights. Rights automatically revert back to the author upon publication, meaning you can reprint your work wherever and whenever you like.

We will respond to your submission as soon as possible, but please allow us six months to review your work.
